Recipe to make Apple Juice with a blender
Ever crave fresh apple juice but don’t have a juicer? I’ve been there. As a chef, I make fresh juice at home with just a blender and a strainer. You can even use a clean cheesecloth as a strainer. Follow my recipe, and you’ll get store-quality apple juice only using a blender. This recipe is quick, easy, and doesn’t take much effort. Whether you’re craving something sweet after work, looking for a healthy treat, or want to impress guests with a fresh drink, this apple juice recipe could easily become your go-to.
Best Apple to Choose
When it comes to making apple juice, the type of apple you choose makes all the difference. Personally, I like my juice on the sweeter side, so I reach for Fuji or Gala apples. They give a naturally smooth and sweet flavor that doesn’t need much else.
If you enjoy something with a little more bite, go for Granny Smith or Braeburn. These bring a tart, refreshing taste that really wakes you up.
For a nice balance between sweet and tangy, you can’t go wrong with Honeycrisp or Pink Lady.

Why Store-Bought Apple Juices May Be Bad for You
Homemade apple juice keeps things fresh and simple. Store-bought juice, on the other hand, often comes with hidden downsides:
- Loaded with sugar: A cup of packaged juice can have as much sugar as soda, with no fiber to balance it out.
- Low in nutrients: Processing strips away most vitamins and fiber, leaving behind sweet liquid that doesn’t fill you up.
- Possible chemicals: Some cheaper brands have been found to contain pesticides, heavy metals, or even arsenic.
- Nutrients lost in heat: Pasteurization makes juice safe, but kills many of the natural nutrients.
- Misleading labels: “100% juice” sounds healthy, but it’s often just sugar water with a fancy name.
Freshly made apple juice avoids all of these problems and tastes way better, too. Plus, since we’re using a blender, the fiber and nutrients from the apples stay in the juice, making it healthier and more filling.

Ingredients
- Fresh apples – 3 pieces
- Water – optional, to adjust consistency
- Sugar – optional, to taste
Follow These Steps
1. Wash and prep the apples. Rinse your apples well, peel them, and remove the cores and seeds. (Apple seeds contain small amounts of chemicals that aren’t good in large amounts.)
2. Cut into chunks. Dice the apples into small pieces so they blend smoothly.

3. Blend. Add the apple chunks to your blender. If the mix feels too thick, add a splash of water to help it along.
4. Set up your strainer. Place a strainer, cheesecloth, or clean cloth over the container you’ll use for the juice.
5. Strain the juice. Pour the blended mixture through the strainer.
6. Squeeze out extra juice. Use a spoon or your hands (if using cloth) to press the pulp and extract as much juice as possible.
7. Serve and enjoy. Pour into a glass and enjoy your fresh, homemade apple juice.
Chef’s Tip:
If your juice tastes a little acidic, add 1–2 teaspoons of sugar to sweeten it up. As a rule of thumb, three medium-sized apples will give you about one cup of juice.
